Empowering Young Minds Through Robotics: Coderina at Early Starter School, Durumi
Every Saturday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, something extraordinary happens at Early Starter School, Durumi. The classrooms transform into innovation labs, curiosity becomes creativity, and young learners become future engineers, programmers, and problem-solvers.
This is the heart of Coderina’s weekly robotics outreach program. It is a mission dedicated to empowering children aged 4 to 15 through hands-on learning, creativity, and technology.
A Mission Rooted in Impact
At Coderina Education and Technology Foundation, we believe that early exposure to technology transforms lives. Our partnership with Early Starter School is part of our broader commitment to E-STEAM education (Entrepreneurship, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) across Nigeria.
Every week, our trained instructors guide students through interactive robotics sessions, where learning happens by building, experimenting, collaborating, and solving real-world challenges.
Learning Through Play: LEGO Spike Robotics
Using LEGO® Education SPIKE™ kits, students dive into an exciting world of:
- Logical reasoning
- Robotics engineering
- Coding fundamentals
- Problem-solving
- Team collaboration
From constructing moving robots to programming intelligent behaviors, students experience learning by doing the most powerful way to understand technology.
Children as young as 4 years old confidently assemble models, while older students design advanced robotic systems that demonstrate critical thinking and innovation.
Building Confidence, Curiosity & Creativity
Beyond technical skills, the sessions help students:
- Develop confidence
- Improve communication
- Enhance creative thinking
- Build leadership and teamwork skills
Each session is carefully designed to be fun, engaging, inclusive, and educational, ensuring that every child feels inspired and motivated.
Real Impact, Real Transformation
Over time, we have witnessed:
- Increased student curiosity about technology
- Improved problem-solving abilities
- Enhanced classroom participation
- Strong interest in robotics competitions and innovation challenges
These young learners are not just building robots, they are building dreams, ambition, and confidence.
Why This Matters
In a rapidly evolving digital world, early exposure to robotics and technology ensures that children are not just consumers of technology but creators of solutions.
Coderina remains committed to bridging the technology gap in education and preparing African children to thrive in the global digital economy.
Join the Movement
We invite schools, parents, partners, and supporters to join us in shaping the next generation of innovators.
Together, we can build a smarter, more innovative Africa one child at a time.
